Terms and Conditions
- The Hirer will deposit material in the contractor’s equipment in a safe manner to ensure that no spillage results when the equipment is transferred to the Contractors collecting unit and the Hirer will indemnify the Contractor against all liability arising out of any failure by the Hirer to observe the Hirers obligations.
- All skips are to be paid on or before delivery; any refusal of payment will result in debt collection charges of up to 25%+VAT plus any legal fees incurred.
- Any skip placed on the highway (includes path or verge) is subject to a compulsory, chargeable local authority permit.
- Where an order is placed verbally or where for any reason the Hirer does not agree to these terms and Conditions the hirer shall be deemed to have accepted them.
- The contractor’s equipment must not be loaded beyond the capacity stated on this contract.
- Materials of obnoxious or poisonous nature must not be deposited in Contractor’s equipment (unless by special arrangement) and direct and consequential damage due to infringement of this condition is the responsibility of the Hirer.
- Hirer agrees to pay all costs incurred in rectifying the condition of the Equipment or Pant if it is returned damaged, incomplete or in the event of theft.
- Contractors must not on no account be used as incinerators or for burning refuse deposited therein.
- Responsibility cannot be accepted for the recovery of materials deposited in the Contractor’s equipment. Materials so deposited are presumed abandoned and to be disposed of by the Contractor.
- The Hirer will ensure that there is unobstructed safe and level access for the Contractor collecting units between the Public Highway and the point at which the equipment is sited.
- All skips are deposited in drives at the Hirer’s risk. Therefore, any damage done by the skip cannot be our responsibility.
- Hirers are responsible for ensuring the contractor’s equipment does not constitute a nuisance to a third party or sitting thereon does not infringe and statute order or regulation or local bylaw. Hirers are reminded that if containers are left on the public highway overnight it is a requirement that such containers are properly lit and hirers are responsible for this.
- Contractors reserve the right to suspend collections and deliveries without liability for any loss occasioned by the Hirer or Third party in the event of war, civil commotion, strike, lock-outs, fog, fire or any other bad weather conditions, delays in any type of transport, plant, breakdown or any accident or other cause beyond the control of the Contractors. The Contractors will use their best endeavours to phase deliveries to meet the Hirers requirements but shall not be liable for any delay in delivery or collection or for any direct or consequential loss arising therefrom.
- We reserve the right to collect any skip deposited on the highway after a period of two weeks or on local authority request.
- Any load above level load will be subject to a minimum of £50 + Vat surcharge which will be chargeable to your payment card.
- Waste classifications and pricing must be agreed on customer order. Alterations cannot be made after the date of delivery.
- Any waste listed below is classified as hazardous and is liable to be surcharged accordingly unless special arrangements have been made.
- Any asbestos deposited in a skip without Wetherby Skip Services Ltd. Prior authorisation is liable to surcharge minimum £150 + VAT to a maximum of £1000 + VAT.
- Asbestos/plasterboard found in a mixed waste skip will be subject to a relevant surcharge. This will be chargeable to your payment card.
- Two weeks hire. After this period, we reserve the right to collect the skip.
